THE RELIGION CORNER: How Can a Bumblebee Fly? (2)

“Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.” — Psalm 100:3

What keeps the big-bodied bumblebee with those little, stubby wings in the air, you ask? Although scientists are still trying to figure this thing out, they are learning some amazing things about the bumblebee. They still cannot quite figure out how this little creature does it, because many things are God-ordained, not for man to know or understand! To man, it is deemed impossible, all they can do is look at the bumblebee with amazement.

You too can do more than anyone thinks you can — just use your faith in God, because we are His people and we are the sheep of his pasture.

Have you ever had a seemingly unachievable goal, yet you kept going anyway? An example happened on Sept. 14, 1860, when Charles Blondin became the first person to cross a tightrope stretched 11,000 feet (over a quarter of a mile) across the mighty Niagara Falls. Though this was not supposed to happen, he walked across, 160 feet above the falls, several times, each time with a different daring feat — once in a sack, on stilts, on a bicycle, in the dark, and blindfolded. One time he even carried a stove and cooked an omelet in the middle of the rope. If Blondin had not had faith in God, this history wouldn’t exist.

How did this happen? God caused Blondin to do it — man will never know why or how he did it, and they won’t know why the bumblebee flies either.

Scientists have monitored the energy use of the bumblebee, placing them in wind tunnels and measuring their oxygen use, to no avail. They can’t even figure out how to create a tiny little oxygen mask for the bees; they studied them long enough, though, to discover that they do have 24 breathing holes. It is a God-ordained matter, man never will know!

A flying bumblebee flaps its wings 160 times per second and consumes the equivalent of 180 candy bars per hour! It uses the same amount of oxygen for its body weight as a flying bird or a bat. However, unlike birds, the bumblebee uses no more oxygen when hovering than when flying. This is only one of the discoveries that contradict scientists’ theories.

According to Creation Moments, a website that makes an attempt to explain, the director of the latest studies on bumblebee flight admits that they still have no idea how the bumblebee stays in the air. He warns other scientists to stop using the current theories on the subject because they are far too simple.

Here is where the column scripture comes in: God created all living things, therefore, He knows exactly how to make a bumblebee fly, even when it defies logic, and when even the best of modern science can’t figure this thing out.

Scripture tells us in Psalm 100:3 that the Lord God hath made us, and not we ourselves. We are the sheep of His pasture, therefore, there are billions of things about human life, animal life and yes, even the tiny bumblebee, that man just cannot understand.

Go for your goals, regardless to your background, even when the world around you cannot see how you will get there, keep going! When my blessing came, my phone rang; I didn’t expect it to happen that day, but I did know that it would happen! My faith played a major role in my blessing, and yours can too.

Grab hold of a blessing, and never let the thought go. See, feel and believe yourself already in possession of this thing, and it will surely happen!
