Stat Comparison (2024)

With a total of 70+ Dragon Species available, a great number of players have been analyzing the Species' Stat Data in search of the best Species for each of the three specialities - Racing, Battle, and Combat. This page is dedicated to both list the current considered as the best according to the playerbase, and a list of all the Dragon's data to easily compare them.

Please be aware that while the following stats are accurate to the information provided in-game, some information provided in-game is not always accurate to a dragon's actual performance. This applies to Dragon Card's Racing Stats, and to a degree, the Firepower Stat; the Shot Limit and Base Damage are all fully accurate to a Dragon's true stats. The best way to test a Dragon's Racing stats is to test it out in Thunder Run Racing and the Battle stats in dummies at The School and Training Grounds.

Considered Best For[]

In September 2021, the Wiki Admins created a still-open Quiz to let players vote for the Top 5/10 best Dragons for Racing, Battle, and Combat, receiving a total of 100 Answers. The following information is based on the playerbase's responses, and not by popular choice or observation.

The Furies initially were also voted alongside the other Dragon Species, though they would occupy all the other votes and win all the other Species without leaving a second chance. In response to that event, the Furies have their own dedicated section where players can vote for the best Fury.

Remember! Just because it's considered as the best by the playerbase's choice, it doesn't mean YOU should abid to their choices. If you feel more comfortable battling with an Eruptodon, or racing with a Triple Stryke, then go ahead and use them - you are not obligated to follow the popular choice.

Racing is divided in two types - Normal Racing and Boost Racing. Normal Racing consists in racing without the usage of any sort of boosts, whatsoever, you rely on the Dragon's speed to race. Boost Racing is the exact opposite of the former, the player uses speed boosts and boost hoops to victory.

In 100 answers, 4% don't race at all, 14% don't Normal Race, and 34% don't Boost Race.

Normal Racing[]

The Sand Wraith is considered as the best Dragon for Normal Racing. Fury-Wise, Pouncer is considered as the best.

  1. Sand Wraith
  2. Woolly Howl/Skrill
  3. Flightmare
  4. Pouncer and Stormcutter
  5. Death Song and Razorwhip

Boost Racing[]

The Sand Wraith is also considered as the best Dragon for Boost Racing, alongside with Pouncer from the Fury side.

  1. Sand Wraith
  2. Woolly Howl
  3. Pouncer
  4. Stormcutter and Skrill
  5. Death Song and Flightmare

Battling is also divided in two types - Normal Battle and Camp Battle. Normal Battle consists in utilizing the merry-go-round technique between the ship and the Recharge Station - that is, only stay at the Recharge Station to fully reload the shots, then return back to the ship to waste them all, and so on. Camp Battle consists in staying at the Recharge Station to auto-reload a shot each time, in exchange of requiring to manually aim the shots at the ship.

In 100 answers, 3% don't Battle at all, 18% don't Camp Battle, and 11% don't Normal Battle.

Normal Battle[]

The Whispering Death is considered as the best Dragon for Normal Battling. Pouncer and Dart are considered as the best from the Fury side.

  1. Whispering Death
  2. Scauldron
  3. Screaming Death
  4. Prickleboggle and Monstrous Nightmare
  5. Pouncer and Dart

Camp Battle[]

The Thunderdrum is considered as the best Dragon for Camp Battle, alongside with Dart.

  1. Thunderdrum
  2. Scauldron
  3. Dart
  4. Seastormer
  5. Whispering Death and Screaming Death

This category is the most versatile because combat really depends on the strategy players go for, and the Dragons used according to that strategy. In Dragon Tactics, there's about 6 strategies - Sniper, Tank, Glass Cannon, Mage, Multi-Target, and Balanced.

  • Sniper is damage from afar.
  • Tank is endurance over damage.
  • Glass Cannon is damage over endurance.
  • Mage is reliance on Status Effects such as injured, poisoned, and stunned.
  • Multi-Target is reliance on hitting multiple targets at once.
  • Balanced is the mixture of two or more strategies. For example, players commonly use Sniper with Glass Cannon for maximus damage.

According to the answers received, players are more prone to use Sniper, followed by Balanced, and Multi-Target.

The Dragons used will be seperated by most voted and by strategy used - non-disclosed votes included, meaning the player voted for the Dragon without disclosing the stratey they use them for. About 3% don't do Dragon Tactics.

By Most Voted[]

The Skrill is the most used Dragon in Combat, alongside with Pouncer who's more used than the Skrill.

  1. Pouncer
  2. Skrill
  3. Night Fury and Ruffrunner
  4. Dart
  5. Death Song
  6. Sand Wraith
  7. Flightmare
  8. Hideous Zippleback
  9. Deadly Nadder
  10. Thunderdrum

By Strategy[]

The most used Dragon for the most used strategy is the Skrill, Pouncer is the most used for Glass Cannon.

  1. Pouncer as Glass Cannon
  2. Skrill as Sniper
  3. Flightmare as Multi-Target
  4. Prickleboggle as Mage
  5. Ruffrunner as Tank
  6. Sand Wraith as Balanced

Stat Comparison[]

Stat Comparison (1)
This page is under heavy construction!
Stat Comparison under a major revamp.
  • Critical Damage wasn't added as it only doubles the Base Damage, therefore, there's no need to track them down;
  • Titan Boost is how much the Titan Stage increases the Base Damage, if a Dragon has 11 as Base Damage and the Titan has 13 of Base Damage, it means the Titan boosted the damage by 2;
  • Each stat has its own average and it was all calculated in an Excel file - if one wishes to check the Excel file for further check in on the accuracy, feel free to contact a local SoD Wiki Staff;
  • Even if Toothless has an Alpha Stage as opposed to a Titan, it still counts as Titan Boost;
  • Max. Health has been removed due to the difficulty in collecting said resource, which means only when we get either all the Level 30 stats or the Level 50 cap stats we can add the Combat stats and the Max. Health stats.

Firepower Stat Comparison (2)[]

Firepower is a stat found in the Stat List when checking a Dragon in the Dragon List, it's represented by a flame but it's determination is rather odd. The Stat is often assumed to be directly associated with Battle Stats, or as recently discovered, as a Level Multiplier for Combat Stats' Firepower but this Firepower has been in the game ever since its release and also changes accordingly whenever Dragons received a Stat Change.

The Firepower was thought to be connected to Battle due to not being mentioned in Racing, and Combat uses a different Firepower represented by Stat Comparison (3), though it presented some inconsistencies. For example, the Fireworm Queen has 10.1 of Firepower, 6 Shots and 15 Base Damage, the Thunderdrum also has the same except it has 8.3 of Firepower. As previously said, it was recently discovered this Firepower has a strong coincidence as a Level Multiplier for Combat's FPR, though aside from both the Dramillion and Deathgripper giving 0.1 of difference, one Dragon stands out by giving a big irregularity: the Shivertooth with 7.3 of Firepower and 4.6 of Combat FPR Multiplier.

Due to its vague true determination of what the Firepower could be used for, the Firepower is now neither a Battle or a Combat stat and it's now in its own section until further information regarding its use will put an end to its mystery.
