Had a great day out

Our driver and guide , Kimmy, was extremely knowledgeable (albeit obsessive about the seatbelts😂). She had a great patter and was funny. Good music selection as well. The three wine tasting sites were great choices. The visit to the Muir Redwood Forrest was mind blowing.

Our driver and guide , Kimmy, was extremely knowledgeable (albeit obsessive about the seatbelts😂). She had a great patter and was funny. Good music selection as well. The three wine tasting sites were great choices. The visit to the Muir Redwood Forrest was mind blowing. I wanted to lie down on the ground and just look up and that was before the wine tasting. All in all a great day with an unexpected stop at the Golden Gate Bridge viewpoint.

We had such a great day trip with Dustin for our wine tour + stop in the Muir Woods!

He is friendly, polite, and hilarious, and balanced all of that with the perfect amount of banter and history + knowledge of San Francisco, Sanoma, Napa Valley and the Muir Woods/surrounding area. Anyone lucky enough to be on one of his tours is guaranteed to have a wonderful experience!

Our tour was awesome!

Then we visited three different wineries which was the perfect number of stops and the wineries were all very different from each other. On the way back, we did a photo stop at the Golden Gate Bride. Our guide, Kimmy, helped to make the whole day very enjoyable. She was friendly, upbeat, helpful and very informative. You could tell that she wanted everyone in her group to have the very best experience!

Dustin was a great tour guide.

Gave us extra recommendations for dinner, etc. Muir was beautiful.. I probably could have spent more time there. Wasn’t blown away by the wine but good price for 3 winery tastings and everyone was very nice and welcoming and wineries were pretty. Last one I got to pick figs and mulberries right off the trees and that made my whole day. :)

Dustin was a great tour guide.

Went at end of summer. Make sure to wear layers. Muir was cold but wineries got very warm. Safe to leave stuff on the bus so don’t feel like you have to carry it all with you the whole time.

FAQs

    Expand All
  • Is admission to Muir Woods included?

The price of this Napa and Sonoma wineries + Muir Woods tour does not include the Muir Woods entrance fee, which is $15 per person and must be paid when you reach the entrance of the park (cash or card accepted).

  • How much time will I spend in Muir Woods?

You will spend a bit over an hour exploring the ancient redwoods along the Redwood Creek Trail. Most guests find this is plenty of time to walk the just over 1-mile loop to the Cathedral and Bohemian Groves of Coast Redwoods.

  • What Napa and Sonoma wineries will I visit for the wine tasting tours from San Francisco?

You will be welcomed to three boutique wineries during your San Francisco wine tasting tour. Our group of partner wineries are charming, family-owned affairs. While you sip on a flight of estate-bottled wine, wine educators will explain how the local terroir and their craftsmanship make Napa and Sonoma wines so special.

Here are just some of the things you will experience on your wine tour from San Francisco at our partner wineries:

    • 3 Handpicked tasting flights
    • Wrap-around porch with stunning views of Napa Valley
    • Fine art gallery with art available for purchase
    • Stories from passionate winemakers that bring the process to life
    • Charming Sonoma winery gift shop
    • Fascinating Sonoma County history
    • Free oil + vinegar tastings
    • Vineyard tours
  • Does this tour go to Napa Valley?

Yes. This Napa & Sonoma Winery + Muir Woods Tour From San Francisco visits both Napa Valley and Sonoma.

  • Must I bring a valid photo ID for the San Francisco wine tours?

Yes. You will need a valid ID showing that you are at least 21 years old if you would like to consume alcohol during the wine tasting tours from San Francisco.

  • Are wine tasting fees included in this San Francisco wine tour?

Yes. All wine tasting tour fees at the wineries are included in the tour cost. Optional extra wine sampling or visits to wine tasting rooms at our lunch stop in Sonoma are not included, but you may purchase them a la carte on site, time permitting.

  • Does the tour stop at the Golden Gate Bridge?

Yes. Weather permitting, the tour makes a photo stop at the iconic Golden Gate Bridge on your return journey from Sonoma to San Francisco.

  • Can the wine tasting tour itinerary be done comfortably in a day?

Yes. The route to the wine country passes quite close to Muir Woods. An early arrival at Muir Woods beats the crowds and offers quiet, unfettered access. The tour’s first winery completes the morning and two wineries after the Sonoma Plaza lunch break are nicely spaced. We’ll have you back to your pickup location in time for dinner in San Francisco.

  • Is this wine country tour suitable for children?

We discourage bringing children under 6 years old on this wine country tour from San Francisco. Some of our winery partners do not permit children in their tasting rooms.

  • Do you pick up outside of San Francisco?

We offer complimentary pick-up from hotels located in San Francisco. If you are staying away from the downtown area, we suggest taking a shared ride service or public transportation to the Hilton Union Square hotel on O’Farrell Street. Our pickup location is outside the Mason Street side entrance.

  • What should I bring on this wine tasting tour?

San Francisco can be chilly in the morning and you will be spending 2-3 hours outdoors. It’s best to dress in layers and wear comfortable walking shoes or sandals. Bring a valid government-issued ID, a light water-resistant jacket, camera or phone, water bottle, hat and sunscreen, umbrella (if the forecast calls for rain), and cash or a credit card for lunch and the park entry fee at Muir Woods (currently $15 for adults).

  • Are meals included? Where is the stop for lunch?

Meals are not included unless you select the optional gourmet lunch. We will make a midday stop for a bit over an hour at Sonoma Plaza where there are many nice, casual restaurants for a perfect wine country luncheon.

  • Can we drink alcohol on the bus during the Napa Valley & Sonoma wine tours?

Yes. However, the pours provided during the wine tasting tours are generous, and our experience suggests that drinking between stops can become excessive.

  • What if one of the guests will not be drinking wine during the tour?

We can make special arrangements and modify the cost if one or more in your party will not be tasting wine. Please contact guest services at (415) 357-0700.
